just an update the phone is still working grate no freezes just don’t have more then two copy’s run of skype running with the same account on the same ip it messes up the phone remember the phone counts as one. I have no try it yet but you may be able to get around this problem by adding a static ip in your router to each device (phone or computer)

mainesoundman – I had to do the same thing with my phone. The phone wanted to update every time I would log out or restart. Disabling the updates took care of the problem.

Update I think i found the problem it may be that the automatic software update is freezing the program because when i turn it off the problem went away. the only other thing that i changed was i add a password to the phones long on page this is done by putting the phones ip in to a browser your ip is under Menu/Setting/Network. Ok user name is admin password is blank. here you can change the password. now to change the automatic software update setings go to Menu/Advanced/Software updates and click no. You can still check for updates by going to General settings/Software updates.

i have the newer version of the Belkin desktop phone and the sound is grate the phone works well but it friezes up almost every day and i have to unplug it to re boot thinking of trying to send it back and try a different one have you herd of thisproblem and is there any way of fixing it ?

aurin – Thanks for your comment! Apologies in my delayed response! The quality is lower because the audio components inside of the phone are of cheaper quality than your computer’s standard audio equipment.

Text messaging on the device would probably be a pain. But it would be a nice feature to see added. As far as leaving the display on all the time, I would not recommend it. It gets hot and it could possibly burn the light out a lot quicker.

I’m glad to hear that you are having no problems with using Skype on the Mac and the Belkin phone at the same time. Maybe it’s just a Windows issue.

Hi, thanks for posting this, i got this phone and was wondering why the quality was less than the computer version, glad to know i have done what i could.

Also concerned about the textmessaging, and thought the phone had that function, would love a firmware update to add this as well as a way to make the screen always on

Skype on my mac works perfectly together with the belkin though, i tried turning both on and off, and answering skype on the computer stops the phone ringing at once!
