Thankfully monitors are fairly cheap. I guess it's a really good thing I keep a spare CRT around just in case something happens like that. Although I do not understand how in the world I was ever able to stand having a CRT monitor in front of me! I have the CRT that's on my desk to the side of me. Way too huge to put in front of me. I don't see how I ever had it in front of me years ago on this same desk.

I just gave away my old 19" Viewsonic CRT. The thing is a TANK. But it works. I hope the LCD monitor I'm using now doesn't die. I've got nothing else, if it goes.

Tim - I always try to be thorough because I can't stand going to review sites where they just have one or two paragraphs and they say it's either crap or it's good without really giving you any other details about the application. Some people like that. But if I'm going to tell someone my recommendation I want them to know everything.

When I was playing around with CODA I liked it really well. At the time it wasn't really working for me because I was being stubborn about doing my page coding on the iBook and the graphics on the PC. It just seemed too aggravating, now I'm dealing with it until I get a new computer.

I agree with Christiaan -- you always seem to throw out a great review without leaving a bunch of stuff out, and it sounds honest, too. BTW, I checked out Coda after I heard about it on twit. It looks hella cool, I'd love to get it.

Christiaan Huygens - Thanks for your comment, greatly appreciated. I am hopefully going to do some more tutorials very soon. I've been needing to do more entries on this site. I'm hoping I get the chance to.

Very well written. I do not know how you learned all of this, but it is clear and easy to understand. I really think you have a future in tutorial writing.

Tim - TextMate looks pretty cool. I'll have to give it a look. CODA is pretty cool, too. It's a bit more expensive, not TOO bad compared to other software out there. Have you tried it?

I tried Taco a long time ago, and I kinda liked it, but it just seemed a little too light-weight. Long story short, and because I was cheap, I ended up going to the free version of BBEdit, then later, Text Wrangler. I really like Text Wrangler -- mainly because of its FTP client and its ability to open and edit files right on a server. The "free" thing doesn't hurt either. Might have to give the Taco another try one of these days.

I just started playing around a little with a trial copy of TextMate (macromates.com, I'm sure you've seen it). I really like it, and I'm thinking next payday I might even drop the 39 euros for it. It's pretty robust.

Sadly, I wish I could think of something nice to say about Dreamweaver, but I can't. Any WYSIWYG editor, for that matter. After working with Frontpage for the last 6 months, well, I'll save that for another comment.....
